Down time?

Like I predicted, it's about a week to the Open House and I'm beginning to run around like a crazy person. Does it shock me? No. Do I wish every event didn't end up like this? Yes.

But I knew it was going to happen and there's nothing I can do about it. 5 business days left until the Open House (we're closed on Monday for Memorial Day). Everything's coming together, I just wish some of it could have been finished about a week ago. I'm still having HORRIBLE trouble finding someone that will donate coffee to us. Bethany and I think it's because of the Indy 500 this weekend. When I'm trying to find a donation I usually get turned down once or twice, but it's never been this hard before. I've sent a request in to Dunkin Donuts and I'm hoping they get back to me soon. Our last and final resort is one of our mentors that works for Starbucks, maybe she has some pull somewhere. You would think a little bit of coffee wouldn't be this stressful.

The displays in the main hallway are looking nice. Today we're heading to FedEx Office (formally known as Kinko's) to get some stuff printed and mounted and then it's time to actually hang everything. I think it's going to turn out really nice. I'll post pictures when it's all done.

Other than the Open House, my VISTA life is just fine. I'm keeping busy and getting my job done. I can't believe I'm almost half way through my VISTA year. CRAZY!! It's about time to start thinking about what I'm doing after this. Oh, real life, I've been avoiding you for too long.

Nothing more for right now, I just found a few extra minutes this afternoon to update. Have a great day everyone!

  1. It's amazing how fast time flies. I feel like we just moved in and I was about to start this job and am already 9 months in.

How much coffee do you need? Have you tried asking grocery stores to donate?
